This event is a Premier Level event and will have rules enforcement of COMPETITIVE. Deck registration lists, deck swaps and *OPAQUE* sleeves must be used for this event.

Prizes for this event will be 3 packs per player *** entered in the tournament. This tournament requires a minimum of 8 players to run.

THIS EVENT HAS A HARD CAP OF 40 PLAYERS!

We will not have a preregistration period for this event – Registration will start at 11 am.

9-16 players – Sealed Deck, 4 rounds of Swiss – Top 8 using same pool Sealed pool.

16-32 players – Sealed Deck, 5 rounds of Swiss –  Top 8 MODERN MASTERS DRAFT

33-40 players - Sealed Deck, 6 rounds of Swiss – Top 8 MODERN MASTERS DRAFT

*** Because of the Limited Availability of Modern Masters, the prize support for this event will be Dragon’s Maze booster packs. Packs can be traded for In-Store Credit at $3 per pack. ***

Description of the events:

Each player will select one of the ten Guilds from Ravnica. For Team events, each team will select 2 DIFFERENT Guilds. When the event begins, players will receive a special guild box that corresponds to the guild that they have chosen. Within the guild box, players will receive:

A Guild pack of their selected Guild from either Return to Ravnica or Gatecrash
An allied Guild pack from the opposing set **
4 Dragon’s Maze Booster Packs

Using this product as well as provided basic lands, players will build a 40-card minimum deck. This event will have continuous build, meaning that players can change their decks as they see fit though out the tournament, using any cards in their pool, as long as the deck is at least 40 cards.

After the build phase, the tournament will have a number of Swiss rounds, best 2-of-3 games. Swiss rounds mean that players can play in as many rounds as they choose, gaining 3 points for a match win, 0 points for a match loss, and 1 point for a draw. THIS EVENT WILL NOT HAVE A TOP 8. Prizes will be determined by Swiss points. Players will have an opportunity to select their prize from numerous options.

** For example, if a player selects Azorius (White/Blue), a guild from Return to Ravnica, their allied Guild pack (from Gatecrash) could be: Dimir (Blue/Black), Simic (Blue/Green), Boros (White/Red) or Orhzov (White/Black). The guild pack could NOT be Gruul (Red/Green) or any of the guilds from Return to Ravnica (Selesyna, Rakdos, Golgari, or Izzet).

Also note: The Guild packs in Dragon’s Maze WILL NOT include the promotional cards from the previous prerelease events.

Event Specific Info:

For all events: Prize support for prereleases is 3 packs of Dragon’s Maze per player, as well as playmats, deck boxes, and additional promo cards. Players MUST be present at the end of tournaments to receive prizes.

The participation promo card is a Mythic Rare – Maze’s End!

DOOR PRIZE – STORE CREDIT!

At each event, each individual player will be eligible for $50 in store credit! If an event has more than 30 players, and for each 10 above 30 , an additional $25 in store credit will be given to another player. So, an event with 50 players will have a $50 prize, and THREE $25 prizes! Winners do not need to be present to win.

Description of the events:

WIZARDS HAS MADE A MAJOR CHANGE FOR THIS PRE-RELEASE.  PLEASE READ!

For the Pre-release Events, Wizards of the Coast has produced a special Gatecrash Guild Pack to be used at the pre-release. These packs contain a Pre-Prelease Promo that correspond to the 5 guilds in Return to Ravnica. The 5 guilds and their colors are:

Orzhov (White – Black)

Dimir (Blue – Black)

Gruul (Red – Green)

Boros (Red -White)

Simic (Green – Blue)

When players register for the event they are playing in, they will select TWO guilds, one as a first choice, another as a second choice. In the event that guild packs are unavailable for a player’s first choice, the player’s second choice will be given. In the event that choice is unavailable, the player will be given the choice of any other guild that is still available. From the Return to Ravnica events, we ultimately had enough product to give everyone their first choice for all events, but that is not a guarantee that it will happen again.

Each Guild Pack will contain the following:

A Pre-release Promo matching the guild’s colors
15 Cards from Gatecrash matching the guild’s colors
A Guild Spindown Die
A Guild sticker
A letter from the Guild Leader
A Pre-release Challenge Card

All cards in the special guild packs will be legal for the events, INCLUDING THE PROMO CARD.

Event specific Info:

 Sealed Deck – Each player will receive 5 packs of Gatecrash, and a special Gatecrash Guild Pack to construct a 40-card minimum deck (basic land provided). Players will be paired in Swiss Rounds, best 2 out of 3 games in 50 minute timed rounds.

2 Headed Giant Sealed Deck – Each TEAM will receive 6 packs of Gatecrash, and two special guild packs to construct TWO 40-card minimum decks (basic land provided). Teams will be paired in Swiss Rounds, single game 50 minute timed rounds.

For all events: Prize support for prereleases is 3 packs of Gatecrash per player, as well as playmats, deck boxes, and additional promo cards. Players MUST be present at the end of tournaments to receive prizes.

The five promo cards are unknown at this time.
